Biographical / Historical
The Women’s Art Institute is an independent circle of participants, friends and supporters of women’s art and artists, dedicated to lively dialog and building community amongst women artists. The Women's Art Institute was founded by Elizabeth Erickson in June of 1999, co-sponsored by the Department of Art and Art History at St. Catherine University, St. Paul, and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. In 2012 the program was moved to the Department of Art and Art History at St. Catherine University.
The Institute is currently (2019) directed by Patricia Olson, associate professor at St. Catherine University. Olson teaches the annual Summer Studio Intensive with Anna Garski each June.
